Pathibhara Pilgrim Trek
Pathibhara Pilgrim Trek has popularly intrigued the Hindu and Buddhists since time immemorial like any other successful pilgrim tour attracts its devotees. Local people believe Pathibhara Devi is a goddess who fulfils wishes. Each day, hundreds of devotees flock to Pathibhara, and during the festive season, this place is filled with people from different parts of Nepal and India. Devotees propose the sacrifice of animals for her to satisfy. It may be shocking to others but the Hindu religion looks at the killing of animals with a degree of tolerance. Pathibhara Trek takes you to Taplejung, one of the beautiful areas in eastern Nepal, blessed with magnificent scenery and Himalayan peaks (up to 7000 m in height) amid a large range of floras, including numerous species of rhododendrons. The ecosystem of this region has been well-preserved, and you will also find it intact as you see different species of birds. This trek gives a chance to gaze at the Kanchenjunga peak, the third highest peak in the world. The monasteries in Olangchung Gola, the waterfall at Sawa and Timbung Pond are few highlights of this trek. Pathibhara Pilgrim Trek also gives you an insight into the culture and traditions of the Limbu community. The trek to Pathibhara Devi (3,794m) combined with the natural and cultural experiences of the region visit a uniquely exhilarating experience.
