Lhotse Expedition

Mt. Lhotse, standing at 8,516m (27,932 ft), is a colossal peak located approximately 3 km south of Mount Everest, separated by the South Col. The South Face of Lhotse, also known as the "South Wall," was a daunting challenge for mountaineers, with several unsuccessful attempts before it was first climbed successfully in 1984. The Lhotse massif comprises three prominent peaks, namely Lhotse East or middle, Lhotse Shar, and Lhotse. The imposing east-west crest of the Lhotse massif lies directly south of Mount Everest, and the summits of both mountains are joined by the South Col. Lhotse can be accessed from either Everest Base Camp or Chhukung, and the two mountains share the same base camp, making it a sought-after destination for mountaineers. However, climbing Lhotse comes with its fair share of challenges, including treacherous high-altitude terrain and extreme weather conditions. The Khumbu Icefall, a segment of the climb, is regarded as the most dangerous section, where climbers must navigate through treacherous ice seracs, crevasses, and avalanches. Given the inherent risks involved, undertaking a Lhotse expedition requires meticulous planning, organization, and expertise. To this end, Wongchhu Peak Promotion offers a comprehensive service, arranging all the required permits, climbing documents, logistics, and support to ensure a safe and successful ascent.
