Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour

The Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour is the simplest and cheapest way to experience the tour of Gosaikunda. Gosainkunda is an alpine freshwater oligotrophic lake situated at an altitude of 4,380 m (14,370 ft) in Rasuwa District in Nepal's Langtang National Park with 13.8 ha (34 acres) of surface area. The Gosaikunda Lake along with its related reservoirs is 1,030 ha (4.0 sq mi) in size and was declared a Ramsar site on 29 September 2007. The lake freezes and sips down to form the Trishuli River and stays frozen for six months during the winter season in October to June. In this area, there are 108 lakes from small to medium in size. The Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour just takes 15-20 minutes to reach Gosaikunda. This tour starts from Kathmandu and ends at Kathmandu after landing at Lake Bank. On this ride, the guests will admire the incredible view of the surrounding peaks and the beautiful landscapes. You can enjoy the stunning views of Chandan Bari at an altitude of about 3,200 m (10,500 ft) and Laurebina yak at 3,700 m (12,100 ft) above sea level. At Laurebina yak, it also offers sunset and sunrise views from Langtang and Ganesh Himal. The aerial views of Thadepati, Mangengoth, Kutumsang and several villages downhill are also to be seen depending on the speed. The regions of Gosaikunda have been delineated as holy sites. The Hindu legend ascribes Gosaikunda as the abode of Shiva and Gauri, the Hindu deities. The Hindu scriptures Bhagavata Purana and Vishnu Purana and the Hindu epics Ramayana and Mahabharata allude to Samundra Manthan, which is specifically linked to Gosaikunda's origin. Gosaikunda's water is called holy water, while during the Ganga Dussehra Festival and the Janai Purnima festival, thousands of pilgrims from Nepal and India take a religious yatra to this region.
