Hiunchuli Peak Climbing
Hiunchuli peak, standing tall at 6,441m (23,773ft) above sea level is one of the most picturesque peaks in the entire country. Mt Hiunchuli is Nepal's fourth-tallest peak that lies within the Annapurna range. The Hiunchuli was first climbed via its southeast face by an American Peace Corps Expedition led by Craig Anderson in October 1971. Hiunchuli peak climbing gives an excellent view of the other surrounding hills, meadows and traditional villages. To get to the base camp, we take the Annapurna sanctuary trekking path up to Hinko and ascend a very steep side of the hill to grassy meadows where we set up the base camp to scale the peak from the South-East face (the usual route). In most cases, three camps are formed to reach Hiunchuli Peak. The other path is through the North-West Face for which the base camp is set up in the base camp of Annapurna South, near the Annapurna base camp. Hiunchuli peak climbing is not very difficult if we chose the correct climbing path. The best season for Hiunchuli Peak climbing is spring (April-May) and fall (October-November).
