Sunday, November 2017.

Everybody has their own stories and excellent adventure, but mine is different. I was born in a small village named Gorakhani which is located at Solukhumbu. For better education, I migrated to Nepalgunj, one of the hottest places in Nepal. The temperature goes above 48 degree Celsius to 50-degree Celsius. My dream came true when I joined WPP and got a great opportunity to trek to Everest base camp trek with a Swedish group. Nepal is a small country. We might think about how remote Nepal is? Well but don’t think or let its size fool you. This country is rich and packed with beauty and adventure. Before going to the trek, make yourself fit and fine. Leave everything beside and make your mind, body and soul free to travel. So, forget everything and fall in love with nature and a great adventure.

The next day our adventure to EBC starts from Kathmandu Domestic Airport. I had never travelled by aeroplane, and this was my first experience to fly. I fell a bit nervous and excited too. The flight to Lukla takes around 30-35 minute depending upon the weather. Leaving Kathmandu valley and flying to the sky and seeing the incredible view, we landed on the world’s most dangerous airport, known as Tenzing Hillary Airport.

Lukla has a variety of shop and large hotels for accommodation. With the stunning view of Lukla, the first day of our journey toward Everest base camp started to Phakding, which might take 2-3 hour depending upon the way we walk. It provides a lovely view of Himalayan range and green land and scape hill during our today walking. We reached Phakding, a small and beautiful village. Our trekking Guide informed us to avoid eating meat from here onward as consuming meat and cold drink might get us sick, which is very risky in this region. We stayed at Phakding for our accommodation. The next morning starts with new hope toward our journey. The journey to Namche Bazaar. During the way, you can see a small village along the way to shop for food or drinks at Monjo. From here you enter UNESCO world heritage site Sagarmatha National Park. On the way, we had to cross suspension bridge.

We reached Namche Bazar, one of the beautiful towns in Khumbu. The land of Sherpa people. I forget to bring trekking pole which I left at my home I miss that more during my Namche Trek. After the difficult trek, you deserved the best place to rest.  We stay at Namche Bazaar. Next day is acclimatization day either we can take rest or do a hike. I prefer going on the trek from Namche Bazaar to Everest view hotel, which is almost 1.5-2 hour. You will love the view from Everest View Hotel 3880m the highest luxury hotel in the world.

If you want to buy something you can quickly get in Namche Bazar.  Namche Bazar is famous for Apple Pie, Souvenir Shopping, Café Wifi, A place to purchase books you wish and buff for your safety during your trek. The Namche Bazar is situated at an altitude 0f 3240m. The next day our trek start from Namche to Tengboche. It took around 5-7 hour to depend upon your physical condition. Till this period, I am physically fit and fine for my trek. During my trek to Tengboche,  I heard the lovely sound of birds, yak bell and wind blow on the tree.  The atmosphere is changing so quickly. After 5 hours, we reach Tengboche, beauty heaven for me when I go Tengboche. Tengboche village is located at an altitude of 3867m.

The oldest, largest and important Buddhist monasteries in the Khumbu region which lies in Tengboche. There is a German bakery in the centre of the village. I tasted coffee at german Bakery and feel great taking coffee at the height of 12600 feet. We stayed at Tengboche for accommodation. Next morning I was fit and fine and hoping for the best. Seeing the beautiful view of Everest and Ama Dablam, the great idea inspires me to reach more closer to Everest base camp.

On the way, I saw Yak with porter and trekker passing toward their journey. I loved the yak on the trail. The trek from Tengboche to Pheriche starts gently slope downward or slightly upward but sharply after crossing the river, for us to feel that it took almost 5-6 hour to reach the Pheriche. It depends upon how the altitude affects you. I notice many people are suffering from minor headache and shortness of breath at Pheriche. We stayed for two days at Pheriche for acclimatization. The left side, you can see a beautiful village called Dingboche.  At Pheriche, you can see a clinic named Himalayan Rescue Association wherein emergency conditions trekkers and supportive staff can take treatment. You have to pay a charge for your checkup at the clinic. We had a great trek from Pheriche up to Lobuche. We stopped and had lunch at Thukla—a great view with a mountain on the backside and clear sky. We had a wonderful dinner at Lobuche. Spend our evening by playing card with Friends.

I am hoping for best because tomorrow we are travelling to Base camp! So finger crossed for good weather. A heavy breakfast with clear sky its time to head toward Gorakshep. You have to walk around loose rock which is difficult to walk. Around 5-6hour we reach Gorak Shep. The last gateway to reach EBC base camp and summit to Everest for the climber. At the base of the peak from Gorak shep, you can see kalapathar. Reaching EBC is my dream, and when I get Gorakshep. I felt that day as the happiest moment of my life. It took around 2-3 hour to reach base camp. Wow moment for me.

First time I saw many helicopters flying above the sky. What I believe is that you can make a plan and prepare for your trek, but you can't control fate. Yes, I am really in love with Nepalese landscape and those innocent and cute people on my way to the trek.

With the help of an experienced guide, I reached EBC. I can't express my feelings when I get EBC. The beautiful and wonderful memory in my life, my remarkable trek to Everest Base Camp.
