Tharpu Chuli or Tent Peak is one of the trekking peaks in the Nepali Himalaya range. The peak has a nice central position in the Annapurna Sanctuary. It is easier to climb than both Hiunchuli and Singu Chuli which also are trekking peaks of the Annapurna. The ascent requires ice climbing equipment.Tent Peak (Tharpu Chuli 5663m) Climbing is also best renowned among climbers to Annapurna Himalayan Range. Tent Peak is situated in the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary and it is an attractive mountain of around.
It is a part of the ridgeline and is located south from the glacier dome. It includes Singu Chuli and acts as a central divider between the semicircles of peaks enclosing the Sanctuary. Tharpuchuli offers an interesting climb to the top and also offers a spectacular view of the Annapurna Ranges. The Tent Peak(Tharpu Chuli) lies at the heart of Annapurna sanctury with some other attractive peaks like Hiunchuli and singuchuli. The surrounding mountains as well as the scenery from the summit is simply superb. The good thing about tent peak climbing is, it can be combined with Annapurna base camp trek.
The peak was nicknamed “Tent Peak” by Jimmy Roberts in 1956. Tent Peak (Tharpu Chuli 5663m) Climbing is combined with Annapurna Base camp Trek which ever best of Nepal. In comparison, our Tharpu Chuli expedition is physically not as challenging as climbing Island or Mera Peaks.
