Nagarkot sunrise tour is one of the best place that offer great mountain views near by Kathmandu valley. Nagarkot is a resort village, 32 km east of Kathmandu. The elevation of this beautiful place is 2,175m from sea level. The views go from Dhaulagiri in the west to Kanchenjunga in the east. Nagarkot Hiking which is also known as Nagarkot nature walk is one of the most popular one day hike in Kathmandu.
Walking through the highland Tamang village up to the Nagarkot 360 view tower is an exhilarating experience which will not only provide you with an opportunity to observe countryside lifestyle but it will also enable you to get close up views of snow-capped mountains along with incredible sunrise view.On a clear day one can see Mt. Everest (8848m), Manaslu (8,463m), Ganesh Himal (7,111m), and Langtang (7,246m). Many people go up to Nagarkot in the afternoon, stay in a hotel in Nagarkot, and then get up at dawn to see the Himalaya Mountains during the sunrise. Day 01: Arrive in the Kathmandu (1300m)
Your journey will start from the Kathmandu Valley. When you arrive at the Kathmandu Airport, our representative Wongchhu Peak Promotion (WPP) will welcome you and he/she will drop you at the hotel so that you can relax and take rest in the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley:
After morning breakfast Wongchhu Peak Promotion will introduce you with your tour guide and he will pick you from respective hotel for an interesting tour of Swayambhunath Stupa located on a hill top, with fabulous views of Kathmandu city, green hills that surrounds the valley and of high snow capped mountains.
Swayambhunath one of the oldest historical sites listed in world heritage of more than 2,5000 years old Buddhist religious complex with huge dome shape stupa with four mystical eyes of Buddha overlooking four directions North, South, East and West. After an impressive tour visiting the monastery and small chapels this place surrounded with green forest with many monkeys around and this place is also known as “Monkey Temple”.
Next nice tour leads towards east of Kathmandu city at Pashupatinath Temple area, tourist or non Hindu are not allowed inside the main temple, however one can overlook the temple from the bank of Bagmati river the holy and famous Shiva temple with golden pagoda tier roofs and four silver doors surrounded with lovely forest with many monkeys around. This place is flooded in the mid February on Shiva Ratri (birth anniversary of lord Shiva). Nearby on the opposite bank of the river funeral and cremation takes places for all Hindu religion.
Then after drive towards north east reaching at Bouddhanath Stupa also called as “Little Tibet” due to strong Tibetan influence in culture, traditions and Buddhist religion, Bouddhanath a huge dome with tow tier where one can walk up near the top with nice views of surrounding Bouddhanath area with shop, stores, restaurants and monasteries.
After a fascinating and lovely historical and cultural tour return back to respective hotels. Then take rest for a while and in evening you will meet with your trekking guide and representative from Wongchhu Peak Promotion (WPP) office for short briefing before your trip because you should know all the essential factors and places before going to the trek.
Day03: Around Mid-Afternoon Drive from Kathmandu-Nagarkot and stay at Nagarkot for sunset view.
Day04: Early morning sun rise view. After breakfast hike to View Tower. Then drive back to Kathmandu.In the evening we will have a farewell dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant with cultural performances.
Day05: Departure to Home:
Finally it’s SEE OFF TIME. You will be picked from Hotel by representatives of Wongchhu Peak Promotion staff and dropped at Tribhuvan International Airport.
